Trick My Truck: Fowl Play

Posted: September 9th, 2007 at 6:02 pm  |  By: Rod

Fowl Play

Fowl Play. Our first pickup. People may be surprised that we'd trick out a dually, but we don't really care what it is. We cater to the working trucker. Just so happens that Joe Henry was a working trucker driving a dually on a poultry farm. Made no difference to us.

The best part of Fowl Play's design was the 22.5 wheels and tires. Joe's constantly driving through the mud, and the larger tires and lift will make it that much easier for him. You don't see tires that big on a dually very often, and it really made the truck come out bad ass!

I was most proud of the banks power driver, because it's going to really increase the performance of his truck. I know Joe loved it knowing that he'll be able to haul with more power and suspension.

Rod, you and Kevin are one of my favorite guys in the mafia group. I am glad that you have done the truck. You and Kevin have taught lots of pick-up owners how to trick out thier own trucks. Tell Kevin that if he wants to, he can join me for a cup of coffee. Bring him up I-44 in your Pete.

    Hi,
I wanted to write to you about my mom. She has been raising us children for the last 7 years by herself and is a full time student. I wanted to see if you could help me thank my mom for all her hard work in trying to better herself and our family situation. My mother has a 1997 for Explorer that she just loves. About 1yr ago she loaned it to a “friend” for a couple of days so they could do some work that they need a truck for. Needless to say she did not get it returned after 2 days. The police would not let her report it stolen as she had loaned it they said. So my mother searched and worried about that truck for 5 months before she finally got it back. It cost her almost 1500 dollars of which we did not have, that money was for her school. Also it had a lot of work that she had to do to the engine, I have no idea how much she has put into it. When she got it back it was ragged out. She had to even have it detailed, there had been a dog in it and you can still smell it, especially if it gets wet inside. I would just like to help my mom fix the truck because she really cant afford to get a new one. I would hate for something to happen to that vehicle because it is all she has to go to school and the person that sole it still has a key.

    Thanks
    Tamra

I would like to know who or where I can get the eight to ten lug adapters to add the 22.5 tires and wheels to a 2007 dodge cab and chassis.
I was very suprised to see that you have little or no information on your site to describe what was done to these trucks.

    savanna,

What kind of brakes does the truck have? If it’s the drum brakes, it could be the shoes. If it’s air brakes, it could be not only the shoes, it could be a clogged air line coming from the compressor leading to the shoe drivers. If that’s the case (clogged airline) take some pipe cleaner or a long wire and poke it thru the air hose until it becomes free of the clogging. Then run some water thru the hose to make sure that it will flow all the way thru. MAKE SURE THE HOSE IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE SHOE DRIVERS!

I would like to know how to try and get my sons truck tricked. He has an 83 Ford F100 and it is truly awful looking, but it is all he has. He’s fallen on some hard times and this truck is his only transportation. I mean it’s awful inside and out. I would like to know how to get him eligible to be a tricked truck pick. Love the show and you guys are truly wonderful for helping people with, probably the most important thing they have.(A way to get to and from the job.)

This truck you guys worked on is also a good one for beginners that want to learn how to trick out their trucks. My friend Mark Carlson loves old trucks and he is into pick-ups. You’ve nailed it with this truck. Great work Rod!

Rod, when you get a chance, team up with Bryan and see if you can get a DVD put together on this truck. My friends at Call-a-Ride in St. Louis could use some help. The instaling of a stronger suspension and the power booster is what the folks at Metro in St. Louis really needs to see for improving the vans at Call-a-Ride.

Hi, I noticed that you said you did not care what kind of vehicle you tricked out. My mom drives a school bus every day, she has a regular route and then does the handicap route here for our public schools. She really likes her job driving, even takes the sports teams to games, the band and choir to events, just transporting little kids to the high school for plays. But, for fun she drives a 75 VW Bettle. It needs help. Ever give that a thought?

I have a 1991 Ford Four Door Bronco C350. She is great but needs lots of love. I sold a 98 Jeep once I got married my wife had 3 kids and we had one more with a family of six and too old school southerns the Mini Van just doesn’t fit us, anyway.

Keep up the good work, I love watching and learning.

Tim, Steve and anyone I may have missed. I realize the info is not on the website here. However if you pay close attention in the show or just give em a call you can get what you need. What you are looking for is this www.americanforcewheels.com/. For everyone else as an ex trucker I loved this. I am now in med school, but as much driving as I do to clerkships I thought it would help, and it has. Others are correct, you can’t just bolt these on. There are significant suspension mods that have to take place. Can these tires explode and kill you yes. Period. I saw it happen in Hammond, La. However I have never had any problems while checking and filling my own tires in the 10 years of driving I did. I hope this helps everyone.

Just recently I became familiar with the type of work You do. It is awesome. Just wanted to let You know that my husband is 76 years of age, has been driving a truck for 55 years. He never had a fancy or new truck, because he spends his money on eleven grandsons, of which one is in Korea who is trained for special services to rescue US soldiers. Another one is attending Westpoint.
Anyway, my husband is a great guy, who I wish very much to have a better truck. His has one million and 420 000 miles and is not too good any more. The Highway Patrol in Texas knows his 1996 Freightliner and loves to give him tickets ever once in a while. Jere still works on his truck, to save money, because he also supports our non profit animal sanctuary. Anyway … I know I am just dreaming, but that is all we have left, because he is not getting any younger or richer. Thanks for all You do! God Bless! This show is the best on TV. The things they do to these trucks is amazing. To know that we have guys out there who are willing to help others just for the joy of doing ti is great. That being said I would like for CMT to consider fixing up my brothers truck. He has had a lot of bad luck. In the airforce he suffered a he ad injury and after coming home from cuba he has not been the same. Due to head injury he had to quit his job as a mechanic because he could not remember how to fix the trucks. He been doing it for 15 years and that was a hard blow. But now he does a hauling business were he depends on his truck which is not in good shape. He needs something dependable to provide for his family. Please help him!!!!!!!! thank you.

I have a 77 yr old retired Air Force sercive man who has done for this country. He served from 1952-1974. And yes he also served in Vietnam and various other places all the while he had a wife and 7 children. The last four were born after he retired from the service. He is now a widower and has an 1995 Chevy S-10. Yes I understand that you usually do the big trucks. But let me tell you about my dad. He never complains and up until recently he still worked on the vehicles in the family. Back to his truck. I t has over 300,000 miles on the original engine. He really needs your help to get it fixed. For the last 13 yrs he has volunteered for one to the local fire department. It woudl tickle him pink if you would think on getting his truck back up to good working order. PLEASE do this little thing for my dad and the dad of 5 other kids and not to mention all the grand and great-grand kids he has. He has always been there for everyone he knows. Now it should be his turn. PLEAS PLEASE PLEASE.

This is a beautiful truck! Great job guys! I was writing you because I am not sure how to sign up for the show. Long story short I wrecked my boyfriends pride and joy (2006 Chevy Silverado) We do not have a lot of extra money, because I have so many medical bills and health issues. I wanted to surprise him by getting it fixed somehow. But I believe you guys are the only ones to do it. Please email me back and let me know if you can help. I am not asking for it to be all suped up or anything, I wrecked the driverside rearend and the front grill get pressed in. The rear side is a doosy! It extends to the front door. The passanger side is perfect! Please take my request into consideration. It would greatly be appresiated! Thank you so much for your time! God Bless you and Yours
