CMT Insider: Thoughts from Katie

We've been so busy lately! It's that time of year for lots of new releases. I think I have done a few of my favorite interviews ever just in the last few weeks. I had a nice long sit-down with Rascal Flatts. Those boys are too funny. I swear they should have their own television show. I know how excited fans are about their new CD, and the music is very Eagles sounding. This CD will be a huge seller!

Kenny Chesney has a great new CD, too. I had a nice sit-down with him in New York recently and he seemed to be in a great place. He looks so healthy and seems very relaxed and happy. He has made an amazing CD and it too will be a huge seller.

We have some great CMT Insider Special Editions coming out soon. Hopefully by now you have had a chance to catch our Reba special about her new Duets album. She is always so fun to talk to and what a great lineup of artists she has on this album! She is truly an inspiration.

We also talked to Faith Hill recently. She was so open about everything that has been happening in her life in the last few years. We talked about her passion for music and the ups and downs she has had at radio. One thing is very clear: she really appreciates the fans that have stood by her through all of this. We discussed the awful CMA incident, when her joke was turned into something much more serious and how disappointed she felt by people's reaction. Although she admits that when she saw the footage back, she undertands how people could misunderstand her actions. She is a lovely person and I hope people will give her a break in the future. Look for that special to air very soon.

    It is great to actually see some shows on CMT that actually have something to do with music. I was under the impression that CMT stood for Country Music Television. Maybe I was wrong. What does Trick my Truck have to do with Country Music? Yes, maybe it does have some relevance to the country life style, but music, no.

    I have become increasingly frustrated with the shows on CMT and have even called my cable company inquiring about GAC, because I want my country music tv channel to actually play country music!

    Sorry for the rant, but change the programming or change the name of the station. Please!

    I enjoy watching Trick My Truck and would like to see it
    back to it’s regular time on Fridays.
    Who ever thought of the Dallas Cheerleaders program is not very interesting. Seen once you’ve seen them all.
    I noticed the guy that went off about the Trick My Truck never mentioned the girlie shows Cheerleaders All.

    It is not just Trick My Truck…it is all of the programing that has nothing to do with country music. I have no problem with programing that revolves around the country lifestyle, after all, I am a country boy. I just believe that they should start a separate channel for that type of show. I watch CMT for country music, whether it be videos, concerts, or award shows. Music! Not cheerleader tryouts or fixing a truck, not even watching the General Lee jump his 1000th ravine.

    We are very disappointed in CMT. We have heard that there will be no Cowboy U program this year. It’s a show all about country and since we have horses our family really enjoyed watching it. We really looked forward to this show every winter. So disappointed, please bring it back! Another thing what does the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders have to do with CMT? Is it because their from Texas? Terrible show and I can’t believe it is on CMT. One more thing, when we go to bed at night I set the sleep timer on the TV and think we can fall asleep listening to Country Music on CMT. Wrong it is either Trick my Truck or The overgrown cheerleaders. What’s up with that? Must have sonething to do with money. When do you play country videos during the day when everyone is at work? I shut the TV off and listen to the radio. Too bad CMT could be a good station.

    Hey, I was wondering if you knew the name of the song and who sings it, that I have been searching for… It was on about 3 or maybe 4 years ago… this guy was a “Pat Green” type not very main stream but this song has stuck in my head… and all I really remember is he was standing in front of a curtain that was playing a home movie type background and in his lyrics there was a line like “I’ve been searching for you everywhere, even in El Sereno Place”??????? something to that effect. If there is any way you can find this song title and artist Please send me the information. Thanks Katie… You Rock. Kelly

    I am a dyed-in-the-wool rock n’ roller but discovered country music a few years ago and LOVE IT!!! Miranda, GW, Kenny, B&R, Patsy, Willi, all the artist, old and new. But the crap programs they air on CMT is very disappointing.
    PLEASE CMT!!!…show more videos. From reading these posts I’m not the only one who thinks your channel is going down hill.

    To whom it concerns;

    Why does CMT keep showing all the REDNECK CRAP? Why don’t they get back to the time when they showed Quality programs. There is only so much of this REDNECK CRAP a person can stand. Is your budget so low that you cannot afford good shows? I would much rather watch re-runs of HEE HAW and old Country variety shows then the junk you are broadcasting now. I do enjoy the Top Twenty countdowns and the Insider programs and the daily videos. But all that damn REDNECK CRAP needs to go.

    Sincerely yours
