A Country Fried Checklist

A lot of people ask me how a video gets to be a Here's Your Sign winner. You might think that we watch all the videos people send us, pick the best ones, put them into a show, and pick our favorite one to win the sign. Maybe you even think that we write all the videos down on little color coded note cards, put them up on a cork board, and have enthusiastic discussions with Bill Engvall about which one is the best and why. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Actually, we use a form. Here at the Country Fried Offices, we love bureaucracy. So I thought I'd share our super secret document with you:
Does anyone in the video have a mullet?
Yes ____

How many people in the video are holding a beer?
A few.
A bunch.
Including Grandma and the baby?
Everyone.
How much of the equipment used in the videos is home rigged?
Some.
Most.
I stole it from my neighbor. Does that count?
Also indicate if any duct tape is visible on said equipment. _______
What level of pain does the person featured in the video experience?
A little scrape.
Bumps and bruises.
Annoying screams.
Yep, that's definitely broken.
Does anyone yell, "Watch this!" before attempting something unwise?
Yes.
No.
He's slurring his words, but that could be it.
How may farm animals, dangerous critters or other animals (e.g. bulls and mud-covered hunting dogs) are involved in the video?
A mess.
A heap.
A buttload.
I can't count that high.
How many teeth are people missing at the beginning of the video?
None you can see.
A few of 'em.
Most of 'em.
At the end of the video?
The same as at the beginning.
More than at the beginning.

I use my treadmill everyday and like to listen to music. Unfortunately, on many occasions I have to suffer through “Ultimate” Big Hair, or “Ultimate” Bar Songs, which is bad enough in itself, but I don’t even get to hear the songs! Today, in about a 12 minute space I heard one song, Corb Lund’s “Hair in My Eyes Like aHighland Steer”. The rest of the time, as per usual, is taken up by recapping the list, over and over and over, or listening to people who dearly love the sound of their own voices, interviewing stars on how a video was made. Do I care how a video was made? No! Do I care how a video was made in 1999? No! It’s time you dumped this cheap programming and replace it with some quality shows where I can hear the latest music. Your “Ultimate” and “Chevy Cross Canada Country” is a very poor excuse for quality and you should be ashamed to put it on the air.

I AM A HUGE FAN OF CMT (MUSIC VIDIOS AND INTERVIEWS. WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IS WHEN YOU AIR THE SHOWS LIKE “GREATEST DRINKING SONGS” WHY CANT YOU JUST SHOW THE VIDEOS ? I COULD CARE LESS WHAT THESE PEOPLE (WHOEVER THEY ARE) THINK ABT THEM. I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SEE THE VIDEO AND ENJOY IT. SINCE MOST OF THEM HAVNT BEEN SEEN IN YEARS. Last night I was watching Country Fried Planet. Usually, this show is a source of humor and entertainment. However, last night’s episode showed a man eating baby birds while they were ALIVE!!! What is this?? Nasty and inhumane!! I was morbidly offended and would hope a disclaimer would be posted due to the fact that animals were and are harmed in the video. One would think that your staff would have “weeded” this type of vulgarity out of the show. It is not funny . . . it is abuse. You have lost a viewer.

I came on this site just to comment on how disgusted I was about the Country Fried Planet episode I watched last night. If I were CMT I would not be proud to be promoting animal abuse such as eating live baby birds, and roping cows up by their legs and flying them by helicopters! That is ridiculous and if that is going to be aired, I would hope that it would be to help inform the public of how cruelty to animals is not acceptable. CMT has lost another viewer. I believe these types of shows make country music look really really bad.

I was just sitting there in my room watching the country fried videos, and i have to say that it is rather disgusting watching a stupid guy eating a live baby chicken. i think that you should rethink those kind of things cause it is offensive to a lot of people. and not to mention it’s not even funny. I remember my first time on this website. My friend and I were looking for something totally new, something we haven’t read or heard about. We were so tired of college, and didn’t have too much time to go out. And we found this site, and now we come ever day to read some cool information or to discuss something with other people. It’s interesting to hear different points of view!

You have lost my whole family as viewers and Bill Engvall should watch these before he host such a show because he has also lost my whole family as fans. Shame on you!!!!!

I love County Fried Home Videos,some of the dumb things people do is funny but when somebody gets hurt it’s FRICKIN HILARIOUS!!!This show can really make your day end great if you’ve had a bad day,known that the dumb fool on TV just about castrated him self doin something that is phycally impossible.KEEP EM COMIN!!!
